Are You Going to Heaven?
2 Questions Reveal Answer
Question #1: If today was your last day on earth are you sure you would go to heaven?
Question #2: If you were to stand before God and He was to ask you: “Why should I let you into heaven?” What would your answer be?
Grace: I have some good news for you! The Bible says in Romans 10:13, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Man: The Bible also says in Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” I have sinned, you have sinned, we all have sinned. No one is without sin. The Bible says in Romans 6:23 “The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus was the only person to be sin free. He came and died on the cross to take all of our sins.
God: Some people think that when they get to heaven God will have a set of scales there and He will judge the things we did, the good from the bad, and then decide if we would get into heaven. But that is not what the Bible teaches.
Christ: The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace we are saved through faith and that not of ourselves it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one should boast.” Jesus’ death on a cross was necessary because he paid the price for my sins.
Faith: Saving faith is like sitting in a chair. No one would sit on a chair that is broken and would not hold them up. Trusting in my own good works will not get me to heaven. I must transfer my trust from myself to trusting only in Jesus and what he did on the cross to pay for my sins. I must sit down and rest, and place all my trust in Jesus for my salvation.
The Bible says Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” And you can spend eternity in Heaven with Him.
Would you like to pray today to be forgiven of and to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life?
Say this prayer with me: Dear Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for me. I ask you for forgiveness for all my sins, I give them to you. I choose to no longer sin and to follow you. Please cleanse me from all unrighteousness and fill me with your Holy Spirit. Amen.
